Space & stars wallpapers
Deep field, nebula colour, and a lot of black.
Space wallpapers are near-black across most of the frame with concentrated colour in one or two regions. That histogram is close to ideal for a desktop: your icons sit on genuine darkness, the taskbar disappears into the image, and the colour is somewhere in the middle of the screen where it isn't fighting anything.
The collection runs from wide star fields and Milky Way arcs through to close nebula studies in violet and magenta. There are also night-landscape frames — a horizon under a dense sky — which give you something to anchor on if a pure star field feels too abstract. On an OLED display these are the most efficient wallpapers here by a wide margin, since large areas of the panel are simply switched off.
Tip: Star fields are the hardest images to compress cleanly — fine points of light are exactly what lossy codecs discard first. Take the PNG.
