Forests occupy a useful middle ground: dark enough for icons and evening use, textured enough to stay interesting, and almost never built around a single subject. If you want one wallpaper that works from morning to midnight without changing, this is the category to raid.
Two sub-moods run through the set. The misty, near-monochrome pine and fog frames are the calmest wallpapers on the site — very low contrast, almost no colour, nothing at all competing for attention. The mushroom and moss close-ups go the other way: saturated greens, small glowing light sources, a fairytale register. Both share the quality that makes forests work, which is that detail is even across the frame with no hierarchy.
Tip: Look for frames where the canopy is dark at the top left — that's where your desktop icons live, and a dark uniform region there keeps labels legible.
